Exploring A Tempest of Tea || A Book Review of Hafsah Faizal's Latest Work
“Every good love story starts with a bullet to the heart.”
I have seen many mixed reviews about 'A Tempest of Tea,' which made me sceptical about reading it in the first place; however, when I started listening to it, the negativity melted away—how could anyone dislike it? Its beautifully luscious descriptions of Tea and lovable characters made the journey so easy that I once again felt excited to read it.
This book is getting such negativity and lower ratings because it's being compared to the beloved 'Six Of Crows'. While there are similarities, I find A Tempest of Tea much better. I found the story engaging and exciting and felt myself rooting for the depth-filled characters. Nothing felt dry or dull, and having vampires in the world added to the excitement and unpredictability.
Of course, at times, the book felt slow, but the action-packed scenes and mind-churning questions that lead to that end all made up for it, and that ending shocked me a little (I did not expect it, thats for sure)
Overall, I loved A Tempest of Tea and can't wait to read the second book in the duology.
